Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi has indicated that he will retire from all forms of cricket after the Pakistan Super League in 2022. He is now widely recognized as one of the best all-rounders in PSL history. The Khyber Agency native has 465 runs and 44 wickets to his name in 50 matches, including one five-wicket haul.

Afridi has represented the Karachi Kings, Peshawar Zalmi, and Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League. He does want to call it a day after playing for the Quetta Gladiators, who former national captain Sarfaraz Ahmed is leading. Nonetheless, Afridi's inclusion in the team is contingent on the Gladiators and Sultans' line-up.

Afridi last played international cricket in 2018 against the West Indies for the World XI at Lord's Cricket Ground. He has, however, continued to perform admirably in the PSL. In 2016, Afridi was Zalmi's captain, and in 2017, he was a member of the team that won the championship.

He was also a member of the Sultans, who won the PSL in 2021 after defeating the Zalmi in the final. Afridi has taken part in the Pakistan Super League 2021. However, due to a back ailment, he was forced to withdraw from the second leg in the United Arab Emirates.

Afridi's strike rate of 153.46 is third best, behind Kieran Pollard (166.24) and Luke Ronchi (166.12). Afridi recently played for the Rawalakot Hawks in the 2021 Kashmir Premier League at the Muzaffarabad Stadium.

Afridi is one of Pakistan's most illustrious cricketers. He amassed 11,196 runs in his international career, including 11 centuries and 51 half-centuries. He also took 541 wickets at the top level, including 10 five-wicket hauls.
