31-year-old bent on leading the Melbourne Renegades to the BBL|11 title.
Pattinson, who has played in 21 Tests, announced his retirement from international cricket in October.
It's the first time Pattinson has had the chance to rest and prepare for a complete season of Big Bash cricket, and he's excited about the Renegades' lineup this year.
The pressure is off the 31-year-old now that his whole emphasis is on the Renegades and the BBL|11, as he aims to help the youthful Melbourne side to become more polished cricketers and potentially win a second title.
As he enters his 10th summer of competitive cricket, Pattinson believes his body is exactly where he wants it to be.
It's all about the intensity to increase his time with the ball, which Pattinson knows will be easier in BBL|11 because he just has to bowl four overs per game.
